AMAZING GRACE
AMAZING GRACE © June 15-21, 2021 ARC
I have been blessed all my life with experiencing grace:
my children exemplify quality in thought/feeling/deed.
Other kin: parents/siblings/aunts/uncles/cousins included:
then kith: friends/neighbors/associates/righteous who lead.
What they role model is empathetic respect that illuminates:
they truly treat others as they would like to be considered.
Transparency, authenticity, equality, freedom are traits of faith:
versus those who give lip service to ideals negated or withered.
Those with Amazing Grace are easy to love and admire:
activists who stand for truth/justice especially for minority.
Language and action are synchronous in depth of caring:
equality regardless of sex/color/age/belief are top priority.
Denoting opposite Greene, McConnell, Trump:
apathy in action/language dominate world stage.
Earth suffers from inequality, climate change, sickness:
their `kind’ incite and fester the pervasion of evil phage.
There is malevolence that persists in religion/politics:
Stamped from the Beginning elucidates in detail.
Religious Works of all faiths inspire and/or depress:
history replete with inhumanity on massive scale.
Is everyone treated equally regardless of sex/race/faith -
justice fair/opportunities good for one/same for other?
Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness unalienable rights:
inspired in our Declaration for every sister and brother.
These words denote our higher nature in amazing grace:
Torah/Quran/Bible avow love greatest commandment.
Yet history reveals leaders/followers negate axiom spirit:
nationalism/racism perpetuate distortion what was meant.
Latest duplicity Catholic Bishops attacking President:
`they’ love to condemn, glossing over church’s sins.
Primacy of Conscience SUPREME deific gift to choose:
their authoritarianism/hypocrisy two-facedness twins.
The horror still going on to date is the naked racism:
private choice, voting, and individual rights threatened.
Has not history proven over and over again we reap:
sowing hate, prejudice, ignorance, will be reckoned.
How I pray the righteous will stand proud and firm:
courage emulating leaders like Milk, Lewis, Ginsburg.
Current administration needs our pledge of allegiance:
please kith/kin, before we self-emote like Hindenburg.
