PROPHESIZING

One of the most popular anecdotes in American literary history -
'So you're the little woman who wrote the book that made this great war!’
said by Lincoln to Harriet Beecher Stowe – author Uncle Tom’s Cabin lore.

Our senses need to be shocked and shaken when injustice prevails –
the Holy Spirit then guides righteous to wave banner –
illustrating higher thought and ethical manner.

Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle was a tour de force –
exposing squalid meatpacking and immigrant exploitation –
aiming at heart/hitting stomach resulting in public persuasion.

Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird magnified bigotry’s sin –
the Harry Potter literary series by J. K. Rowling is masterpiece –
weaving warp and woof divine meaning premier expertise.

Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale is contemporary prophesy –
religious beliefs spawned crusades, persecution, pogroms, genocide –
current ethos is opposite of divine love – you/me – we – kith/kin decide.
