POPE FRANCIS

POPE FRANCIS © ARC November 9, 2014, 3:53 AM Sunday

So we have a Pope who is walking the talk:
what do some of his flock vowed to obey say?

You don’t represent Christ that we believe in:
One, we say, judges and preaches sin not o.k.

Our Jesus judges/condemns left and right:
which overrules tolerance and empathy.

We love better: ones preaching rigid law:
representing parables illustrating apathy.

One parable chastised for thought about adulteress:
we interpret sin condemn/punish by throwing stone.

Letter of Law not Spirit is what we adhere too:
we’re self-righteous gnawing at respectable bone.

Tradition has black/white rigid commandments:
literally we are supposed to respond and condemn.

We interpret Biblical passages that give us power:
overrule parables that preach love highest for men.

If we truly stripped to cloak, staff, and ministered:
we’d have no comfortable parsonages, materials, power.

Easier to preach than role model corporal acts of mercy:
feeding hungry, housing homeless, charitable too dour.

Like Republicans vowed no cooperation after Obama win:
it’s not Christ’s message of love that will be your support.

Instead competition of win/lose - might makes right is divine:
we believe in house divided - opposite of Christ is our cohort.
