COYOTES

COYOTES

I live in housing tract natural habitat area for Coyotes.
They were here first; humans came in and took over.

Similar to what we did originally with Indians.
Didn’t let them stay; uprooted like four-leaf clover.

Same with blacks; now animals: capture/remove - put in zoo.
Blackfish movie portrayed human justification for ok or not.

Logic assessed according to strict principles of validity:
Alas higher reasoning not equation: infected with bot.

So now in unsane way of thinking: make up for past.
We’ll let coyote wild stay, even endanger domestic pets.

Now we’re on the side of endangered species.
They were here first in case someone forgets.

Last month coyotes jumped person high fence.
Family dog in back yard didn’t stand a chance.

Community rallies around to comfort and support.
Complaints to government in ongoing futile dance.

Five score California human attacks have occurred.
Similar animal household fatalities and on the rise.

But unless imminent danger no action by bureau.
If it was agency’s child or pet, then hues and cries.

other sources show that while 41 attacks occurred during the period of 1988–1997, 48 attacks were verified from 1998 through 2003. The majority of these incidents occurred in Southern California near the suburban-wildland interface.[2]
