In a preview of this weekend’s show, journalists Martin Clancy and Tim O’Brien make the case that —
for the poor in America — justice is still unaffordable.

Dear Mr. Moyers:
I am faithful fan; salute the light within you.
Frankly, you are the `one’ I go to for educational growth in one subject after another.
Dec. 15, 2005 while opening up another homeless refuge
I was violently assaulted by `evil’ - 42 stab wounds; coma two months.
The story is dramatic; too long for here.
Young 23 white man serving maximum: 15 years two counts of attempted murder.
Not only did I `forgive’ but daily prayed for his soul - did not want `death penalty’; yearned for `him’ to redeem soul back which he had sold `to the devil’.
I have worked with mentally ill; he was Manson’s kin.
I recently read his name on a `prison ministry’ outreach website.
My prayers will never cease.
Yes, loved ones `initial reaction’ was to destroy; but divine are our roots.
Of course, we want `just punishment’ which frankly I believe should have been life; for unless he truly is redeemed, evil will only perpetuate.
Venerable Attorney Louis Nizer wrote eloquently on this topic.
God Bless.
You are in my daily prayers.
Respectfully, RMN '
