ARC
Both veteran son and I have experienced severe trauma:
he military conflict, and I suffered murderous assault.
We have both been blessed with phenomenal kith/kin:
most recently two dogs spiritual nourishment within.
Like little ones before holidays, we placed our petitions:
emotional support canines needed to help overcome.
Our beloved Paco passed February to Rainbow Bridge:
joined Penny/Oscar/Fawn/Cinder… over heavenly ridge.
Manna are miracles of life blessing me since birth:
family, neighbors, friends have enriched my life.
Teachers/mentors in vivo/vicarious inspired progress:
books/movies/news/artists – all universal kith/kin bless.
I give witness to life’s phenomenal synchronicity:
analogous orchestra’s conductor inspiring arrangement.
Arraying one musician with another or all together:
Before I formed you in the womb…, ala divine bellwether.
This poem is sharing just one melodious connection:
canine Penny had to leave daughter’s friend Lupita.
We were asked to help while another home was sought:
instead, became emotional support animal who taught.
Until her, never understood their unconditional love:
she was my therapy that progressed traumatic self.
But she got out one day through opening in gate:
found by teenage Claire/Casey – entwined fate.
They/families adopted/succored me through years:
both graduated/married – he doctor vet/she ecologist.
Took care of Penny, then Paco found homeless years later:
then were consolers when each traversed to deific creator.
The word went out that son and I were bereft:
within month, Casey’s mom Debbie answered plea.
Abused Bedlington Terrier Monty needed new place:
he was very protective would transfer love to my face.
Then another daughter’s friend Nadia had one to many:
Staffordshire Nola famous for courage and protection.
Both adopted within week of one another bonded instantly:
convinced matches made in heaven to aid our vulnerability.
So, as always, my constant prayers exponentially said:
grateful to God: life, kith/kin, country, nature, and pets.
Shout-out to those who `answer spiritual call’ to care:
Luminaries with open giving hearts bear fruit and share.
