Lord, we are not worthy…

Lord, we are not worthy for you to enter under our roof:
but, please say the word, and our souls will be healed.
This prayer is communal one taught in a religious creed:
plea begs for forgiveness for every major or minor deed.
It aches to read Norm Chomsky’s Who Rules the World:
transparency shockingly explicit in American truths.
Unilateral decisions keep power superiority:
survival supersedes democratic priority.
Our heritage is not taught honestly in schools:
The 1619 Project illustrates gaps in education.
History repeats itself when fail to learn from past:
subterfuged in deceptive language, sins are vast.
KARMA is a principle held in revered standing:
Cause and Effect analogous explaining interconnection.
America’s sins from Slavery to Vietnam War are turpitudes:
contrast to civilized caring/sharing known as beatitudes.
At five, stole penny gum from local Goode Shoppe:
conscience tormented until placed nickel on counter.
Not just what was value, but interest demanded more:
when we trespass/sin against, soul threatened at corps.
America’s sins from foundation are glossed over/taught:
slave labor/Indian colonization/disenfranchised minorities.
We are paying, with interest, to date for evils at conception:
until acknowledgment/repentance, karma constant reception.
Trespasses continue in current epoch of modern time:
biblical lore says choice first gift to human creation.
Abraham `told’ to sacrifice/return son to heaven roots:
yet, `courts’ say women must bear `their decided fruits’.
Alas, we do not have Warren or Ginsburg anymore:
some current misled to secure, then defiled integrity.
As they did in the past with Dred Scott decision:
prejudiced opinion causing country collision.
`Survival of the Fittest’ will not be America’s swan song:
refusal to love supreme… neighbor as self will be eulogy.
`Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread and forgive us…:
according to our deeds chasten or reward plus.

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied. Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."
