HIP began in February, and organizers said they hope to be fully staffed by early summer. All in all, they will add about 18 members including physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers and psychiatrists. For the health side of service, HIP will be partnering with The Children’s Clinic. The most vulnerable homeless who will be targeted will include people afflicted with schizophrenia, major depression, affective disorders, diabetes, STDs, hepatitis, AIDS, cardiopulmonary disease, cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness, chronic pain and arthritis.
“It’s completely mobile, so people don’t have to go to a site, we’ll bring all these services to them,” Legere said. “That’s what’s unique for this.”

CalWORKs is a welfare program that gives cash aid and services to eligible needy California families. The program serves all 58 counties in the state and is operated locally by county welfare departments. If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive money each month to help pay for housing, food and other necessary expenses.

Dear Congregation:

Namaste! I salute the light within you+

I am the victim of murderous assault. Through God’s grace, Jesus, Holy Spirit I am progressing in miraculous recovery. Vital needs have been physical therapy and social interaction. Do not drive: routine up at 3 a.m. - begin extensive prayer list - walk to daily mass/communion - in bed by 6.

I’m a normal 71+ senior who avoids needed exercise, but loves dancing. El Dorado Senior West has it going on Monday/Wednesdays with free dancing and live band!!! I so desired day lessons; began searching. Michael Miller of your church offers them Saturdays and Sundays!!! What a special professional and gifted teacher!!! Absolutely 10+++++++++++
He and associates: Dana, Karma, Sheila are very special dance instructors.
I have had trouble with `memory and sequence’…what a thrill to re-experience the `synapses’ connecting with his talent and blessed empathy+

Last Saturday, February 2, I arrived early; experienced Broken Loaf Food Bank and clothing outlet. Wow!!! Christians who walk talk+++
I worked with homeless for over two decades; you are so, so needed.

May God Bless You All Always. I am keeping you all in daily prayers/caring-sharing your ministry.
Respectfully, MJG

Episcopalian Kudos

Dear Episcopalians:

An invitation from Joyce and Gene Dery to attend historical Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Santa Ana on January 6, Feast of the Epiphany was met with delight for it had been over forty years since last visit. My day starts at 3 a.m. with bended knee and beginning extensive prayers; continues with mile plus walk to Catholic mass/communion extending intermittently throughout day.

It was in the early 70s that I began kith & kin pilgrimage of visiting a different church each week. Certain ones `stood out’ for `walking the talk’.

Episcopal Church of the Messiah was just as I remembered: warm, friendly, neighborly affection. I was so delighted that last week, January 27, rode bike to St. Thomas of Canterbury in Long Beach. Once again, Episcopalians greeted newcomer with congenial hospitality.

Yesterday I called Dial-A-Lift to attend Saint Luke’s in Long Beach.

There are superlatives needed to describe congregations that on a scale from 1 to 10 hit a 20! Sermons from humble, charismatic, and enlightened ministers need to be media showcased. The sacred uplifting music played and sung caresses the spirit enduring like holy incense. Congregants role model the best of what it is all about: spiritual and democratic inclusiveness. Kudos St. Luke’s: Tony, Cara, Christian, Scott+

I am victim of horrific assault: 42 stab wounds. I truly believe God’s grace, Holy Spirit, my Lord Jesus blessed me with miracle renewed life to continue pilgrimage of meeting, praying for renaissance `kith & kin’ who personify: loving God with whole mind, heart, soul/loving neighbor as self.

Episcopalians: I SALUTE THE LIGHT WITHIN YOU+
May God Bless You/Yours Always+

Respectfully,
R. M. Namaste’ (aka MJG)
